Three Phase Integrator      

Three Phased integrator are specially designed to check the time and temperature combination in three different steps. Each integrating indicator is validated to another time/temperature combination. The blue indicator changes to black when exposed to steam but this change does not ensure the sterilization process' efficiency (UNSAFE). The pink indicator changes to black to obtain the stated values of the critical variables for type 5 indicators. These values are obtained when the sterilizer is able to heat the steam at 134 ºC for 3.5 minutes or 15 minutes at 121 ºC. This situation is named OK. Longer exposure times or higher temperatures can be determined when the green indicator changes to dark brown up to black. This situation is named OPTIMUM.
